John Hattie wrote in the foreword to Lyn Sharratt’s book ‘Clarity’ which our school has adopted as part of the Regional Project with Lyn: ‘There are few schools that are excellent without an excellent leader...this leader is the first among equals...leading the narrative in the school about the impact of the adults on the students, gaining - and more important, interpretating - the data and the information from the classroom observations, and challenging the expectations of all in the school. ‘
Might we celebrate our leadership at all levels at Mudgeeraba Special School from Facility Officer, Cleaning Team, Teacher and Teacher Aide Teams, Administration and my Executive Team. You make Mudgeeraba shine its Brilliance every day.
Yesterday the School Improvement Unit with our department published the first Case Study live on the website. This Case Study is ours. Congratulations Mudgeeraba Special School Family.

Schoolies 2019
This week marked another milestone in the lives of our graduating students, attending Schoolies celebrations in Surfers Paradise.
Our students planned their Schoolies Experience through the Moving On program, every Monday afternoon this year. We were able to offer a Day Program and Overnight Program, supported by senior staff.
Members of the school community came down to the bus area to see our Schoolies off to their experience. Students travelled in style in a Stretch Hummer Limosine.

Students also took part in the Beach Party on Wednesday night on Surfers Paradise beach. They danced the night away on the same basis as their peers across Queensland, celebrating the completion of their schooling.
The Red Frogs team came to the accomodation to cook a pancake breakfast on Friday morning.
Students had personal spending money to design and purchase a personalised Schoolies shirt to take home as part of their experience.
We are so proud of our graduates, who took part in Schoolies celebrations the Mudgee way.
