Student Council and Sport Captain Assembly
We would like to invite our wider school community to attend our special assembly on Monday 15th February where Division 9 Councillor Glenn Tozer will be congratulating our Student Councillors and Sports House Captains for 2021 with a certificate, badges will be arriving at a later date. If your young person has been elected, an invitation would have been forwarded in the communication book today, 12th February.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
During the school week our students will look at this explicit teaching focus in a number of ways. During learning activities explicit instructions form part of everyday teaching sequences. Student’s will engage in the morning routine, and listen to instructions from teaching staff. Student’s will listen to adults during community outings and teachers will explicitly teach the students to identify trusted adults within the community.
Parents and carers you can assist with this learning by providing your young person with simple one step instructions and following up with specific praise when they are carried out. When you are out in the community you can point out trusted adults such as the police and other trusted members of the community to reinforce the concept that we listen to adults.
The Arts Council - School Performance - Literacy Based Event

Next week will have a school performance at our school for our students to enjoy called: from Halfway Around The World. This performance is a collection of seven stories plus chants, poetry, rhymes and children’s games. There are true stories, a fable, a fairytale, a dreamtime story and by the end of the show when the same tall story is being told for the third time the whole audience will be involved. This is a engaging and wonderful literacy experience for our students.

NDIS Therapy Access on Schoolsite
The departmental guidelines for supporting NDIS Therapists limits our ability to have external NDIS therapists: Speech, Physiotherapits, Occupational and Behaviour / Psychologists onsite for weekly services. We do not have the facilities to create service offerings, ensure student protection and maintain education learning. We have found it is invaluable to support the consultative approach with therapists attending the school for stakeholder meetings. To support this we will need to complete the NDIS Agrrement form. Please direct your enquiries through to Colleen Hope (Principal)
Covid Guidelines Weekly Updates
Stop the Spread of COVID-19Maintaining the required hygiene and physical distancing measures in place in our school. These are our most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Any person who is sick (staff, student or parent) should stay home and if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Loss of taste or smell
- Tiredness and muscle aches
- Vomiting and/or diarrhoea
- Shortness of breath
If students or staff present at school as unwell we will follow up and request an imediate early departure until a medical clearance is provided and confirmation that the person is well.
We need to ensure we stay home if recurring flu like symptoms present to decrease the spread of influenza.
Further information about COVID-19 testing is available via the link below:
If you have any questions, please call your doctor or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) in these continuing concerning times.
