The book I have chosen for my door for Book Week Celebrations is
A New Day by Alex Ryvchin.
It is a beautiful story of love, hope and always finding the positive.
Written during the time of the Coronavirus pandemic, A New Day gently reassures children that difficult times will pass while encouraging them to appreciate the moment and understand that life’s simple pleasures are the most meaningful.
Beautifully illustrated with vivid, uplifting images and written in a clear, rich text.
Includes diary pages for children (or parents) to record their feelings, what they're grateful for, and to write a note to their future selves as an important historical record of each child’s experience during this extraordinary time.
A New Day will provide hope, comfort and strength to children, parents and educators alike.

Book Week has begun with a BANG!! We launched Book Week today with an Executive Challenge of all our blocks to decorate their doors as a beloved book cover. Our staff took up the challenge with gusto!
Middle 6-10 has been awarded the best block for 2020. Their Alice in Wonderland themed block enchanted all the senses.
Families, please head to face book to have your say and vote for your favourite door with our People's Choice Poll. The door with the most facebook likes at 9am on Friday 23rd October 2020 will win.
Book Week re-commences Monday October 19 and concludes Friday October 23.
Positive Behaviour for Learning - Term 4 - Week 3
During week 3 our students will look at this explicit teaching focus. Through incidental and explicit teaching scenarios during mealtimes students will learn the importance of using table manners. The explicit teaching of these skills may be extended to setting an eating area, clearing away rubbish, disposal of compostable items in the correct bins, encouraging conversation or requests for assistance.
Parents you can assist this learning in the home setting by modelling for your young person cutlery usage, helping to set and clear the table at mealtimes. This could also be enhanced in the home setting by encouraging communication and dinner conversation topics.

P&C Container Refund & Recycling Scheme
Please bring in your recycling to the school. The mobile reciptacle is stationed at the front carpark behind the bus shelter in school hours as the students are part of the program and move the wheelie bin between 9.15 am and 2.00 pm.
One Hundred percent of the donations go to our P&C Association.
Covid Guidelines Weekly Updates
Stop the Spread of COVID-19
Maintaining the required hygiene and physical distancing measures in place in our school. These are our most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19.
In Term 4 we will maintain limiting large groups of adults onsite or outside personnel from outside agencies eg therapists. All contractors for work repairs will adhere to Departmental guidelines.
The greatest news today is to hear that Graduations can now support dancing as an activity.
We would like to clarify that if a member of your household is sick, you are not required to stay home unless you have received health advice to do so.
Any person who is sick (staff, student or parent) should stay home and if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Loss of taste or smell
- Tiredness and muscle aches
- Vomiting and/or diarrhoea
- Shortness of breath
If students or staff present at school as unwell we will follow up and request an imediate early departure until a medical clearance is provided and confirmation that the person is well.
We need to ensure we stay home if recurring flu like symptoms present to decrease the spread of influenza.
Further information about COVID-19 testing is available via the link below:
If you have any questions, please call your doctor or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
