Dear Mudgeeraba Special School Families,
Welcome back to term 3 and the second half of the school year here at Mudgee. I hope all families had a lovely Winter holiday period and spent quality time together. Student report cards were sent home prior to the holidays, if you have any queries or questions, I encourage you to contact your child’s class teacher.
Next week, students will engage in various NAIDOC Week activities, such as ochre painting. Mudgeeraba Special School acknowledges the significance of NAIDOC Week, emphasising the importance of offering all students the chance to celebrate and connect with both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
School Opinion Survey
Here at Mudgee, we are always looking for ways to improve and greatly value feedback. Some of you will soon receive an email asking you to take part in our annual school opinion survey. If you do receive an email asking for your input, I’d greatly appreciate you making the time to give us feedback.
The 2025 School Opinion Survey is scheduled to be administered between Monday 28 July and Friday 22 August 2025. I eagerly anticipate the results, as it is always wonderful to have our community affirm what we are doing well and provide suggestions on how we can make our great school even better.
Enrolments
I would like to remind parents about our 2026 Prep Enrolment processes. If your child was born between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021, they are eligible for Prep in January 2026. Families are encouraged to enrol early for 2026 to ensure you receive information on our pre-Prep transition opportunities. Please contact me via the school office if you have any enquiries.
Warm Regards,
Renée Zhu
Principal
Friendly Reminders:
It is essential to keep children home when they are sick to prevent the spread of illness to other students and staff. Ensuring that children stay at home when they are unwell helps them recover faster and maintains a healthy school environment for everyone.
We understand that some of our families may have carers who are employed at the school in various roles. While we value the important work these carers do, we kindly remind parents and guardians to respect professional boundaries. Please ensure that any questions, concerns, or communications about your child’s progress or wellbeing are directed to the classroom teacher or a member of the school’s administration team. This ensures that we maintain clear and appropriate channels of communication, protecting both the privacy of students and the professionalism of our staff. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
