Dear Mudgeeraba Special School Families,
As we come to the end of Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic start to the school year. It has been wonderful to see our students engaging in their learning, developing new skills, and building friendships.
This week we celebrated Easter with our students. From arts and crafts to egg hunts, it was such a joyful time for everyone. A special thank you to our staff for organising these fun activities, I know our students were very excited about our special guest.
In week 9 we had the pleasure of welcoming two children's authors to our school—Kate Foster and Mark Cunich. Both authors were engaging and truly inspiring! We are incredibly grateful to Somerset College for making their visit possible. It was a wonderful morning enjoyed by both teachers and students alike.
Today our students celebrated their learning of our school core values: Connected, Aware and Responsible by participating in Mini Golf activities. This was a very successful day and was a great way to end the term, I especially enjoyed seeing both staff and students dressing for the occasion.
Term 2 promises to be just as exciting, with a number of school events planned. We will also be continuing our focus on student wellbeing, reading and student potential. Please keep an eye out for updates early next term as the reporting processes will look different from previous years.
School will close for Easter break from Friday, April 4, and students will return on Tuesday, April 22. I encourage everyone to take this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family.
On behalf of all our staff, I wish you a safe and happy Easter holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great term!
Until next time,
Renée Zhu
Principal

Early Year2 1-4 Easter Hat Parade
On Thursday morning, Early Years 1-4 celebrated Easter with an EGG-citing Easter Hat Parade. During our parade, we danced to some Easter songs, listened to a shared reading of We're Going On An Egg Hunt and danced along with our families to the Bunny Pokey. We were even lucky enough to have a visit from the very busy Easter Bunny. This semester in Design and Technologies, students designed and decorated their Easter hats for the parade. Thank you to all who attended, making our super special! Have a happy and safe holidays.
Early Years 5-8 Easter Hat Parade
On Wednesday afternoon, Early Years 5-8 celebrated Easter with a fun-filled and exciting Easter Hat Parade! Students decorated and created their hats, performed three amazing songs and then welcomed a special guest for a fun surprise! How lucky are we, that the Easter Bunny could visit us? Thank you to all parents who came and watched this event! It was fantastic seeing parents and students dancing and singing along to Bunny Cokey at the end.
