Dear Mudgeeraba Special School family and community members,
Welcome to the 2025 school year at Mudgeeraba Special School!
It has been so wonderful to welcome back all our student and families and I am thrilled to report a wonderfully positive start to the school year. A special welcome goes out to our new Prep families and those experiencing the Mudgee community for the first time.
I would like to thank our entire school community for contributing to such a successful and settled beginning. Our staff's meticulous planning and organisation, coupled with the dedication of parents and carers in preparing their children for school, have truly made a difference.
At Mudgeeraba, we value your feedback and strive to continuously improve. Our communication platforms, including Seesaw, have strengthened the school-home partnership significantly.
Our dedicated staff is committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. We recognise that a strong partnership between school and home is paramount to student success, and we look forward to collaborating with you to support your child's educational experience.
While we encourage open communication, please understand that teachers may not be available to read or respond to electronic communication during core learning times due to teaching commitments. Electronic communication on non-work days, weekends, or school holidays is at the discretion of the teacher.
Thank you for your understanding and support, as we work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Drop off and pick up times
As we start another school year, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of our important procedures regarding drop-off and pick-up times for students.
If you find yourself dropping your child off after 9:00 am or picking them up before 2:30 pm, we kindly ask that you please sign in and out at the main office. This simple step helps us ensure the safety and security of all students within our school community.
Furthermore, we kindly request that parents refrain from walking through the school to collect their child during these hours. Instead, once you have signed in at the office, our staff will promptly notify your child's class and arrange for a staff member to meet you in the office.
We understand that there may be times when you need to discuss your child's needs or address any concerns outside of these designated hours. To ensure that our teachers can focus on teaching during the core instructional time (between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm), we ask that you schedule meetings or discussions with your child's teacher at a mutually convenient time outside of these hours. This process not only helps maintain a safe and orderly school environment but also ensures that our teachers can dedicate their full attention to our students during instructional time.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these procedures. Together, we can achieve a smooth and successful school year for all.
Kind regards,
Renée Zhu
Principal
