Dear Mudgeeraba Special School Families,
Welcome back to term 3 and the second half of the school year here at Mudgee. I hope all families had a lovely Winter holiday period and spent quality time together. Student report cards were sent home prior to the holidays, if you have any queries or questions I encourage you to contact your child’s class teacher.
Last week, students engaged in various NAIDOC Week activities, such as ochre painting and making beeswax lip balm. Mudgeeraba Special School acknowledges the significance of NAIDOC Week, emphasising the importance of offering all students the chance to celebrate and connect with both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

School Opinion Survey
Here at Mudgee, we are always looking for ways to improve and greatly value feedback. Some of you will soon receive an email asking you to take part in our annual school opinion survey. If you do receive an email asking for your input, I’d greatly appreciate you making the time to give us feedback.
The surveys will be open until Friday, 16 August 2024. I eagerly anticipate the results, as it is always wonderful to have our community affirm what we are doing well and provide suggestions on how we can make our great school even better.
Enrolments
I would like to remind parents about our 2025 Prep Enrolment processes. If your child was born between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, they are eligible for Prep in January 2025. Families are encouraged to enrol early for 2025 to ensure you receive information on our Pre-Prep transition opportunities. Please contact me via the school office if you have any enquiries.
Warm regards,
Renée Zhu
Principal
It is essential to keep children home when they are sick to prevent the spread of illness to other students and staff. Ensuring that children stay at home when they are unwell helps them recover faster and maintains a healthy school environment for everyone.

Junior Secondary Skill Development
The Junior Scondary Skill Development recycling team have been busy collecting paper, cardboard and cans from around the school. Keep up the great work everyone.
In collaboration with the Lions Club of Mudgeeraba, our Senior Students worked as a team to decorate paper bags which will be filled with gifts for the Aged in our community over the Christmas period.
Fundraiser BBQ at Bunnings Robina
Thanks to everyone who supported at our BBQ at Bunnings in Robina on Saturday 13 July. It was a very successful day raising money for graduation and schoolies. Thank you so much to the students, parents and staff for helping out.
Term 3 PBL Celebration - Friday week 10 - Farm Fair
We need you! Mudgeeraba Special School is in need of a ‘Grants Officer’
The functions of a Grants Officer are:
