Dear Mudgeeraba Special School Community and Families,
End of semester one report cards would have come home today, so please check your child’s bag. I encourage you all to reflect on the progress your child, or children have made. Please follow up with your child’s teacher early next term if you have any queries or concerns as we need you as partners to get the best outcomes for the children who attend Mudgeeraba Special School.
Last week four of our students attended Robina High School for the Greenheart Cluster Speaking Competition. They competed against peers of other local schools and it was so great to see our students speak with confidence in front of a large group of people. It was such an incredible achievement for Isaac, Kai, Angus and Toby. The whole school community is very proud.
This semester has been very busy and next semester will be equally full of fun events and learning experiences. In particular, our school concert on the 29th of August at the Star Casino. This week members of the leadership team have been watching classes rehearse for the big night and I for one am very excited to attend my first Mudgeeraba Special School concert. Mark the date on your calendar as I’m sure it will be a night to remember.
I wish all in our school community a very safe and relaxing Winter holiday vacation and we will see you all back in our great school on Monday 08 July.
A message from Puggles
With children increasingly using the internet and technology at home, please consider ways to protect them whilst they are online. You can consider installing some form of internet filtering and parental control solution to set time limits, filter and block content and reward good behaviour. There are many options available, including free and paid products where some cover a single device and others cover multiple devices. You can check out the eSafety Commissioner’s ‘Taming Technology’ for more information. www.esafety.gov.au/parents/skills-advice/taming-technolgy

Senior School Markets at Robina Town Centre
It was another great day at our Senior School markets at Robina Town Centre on Wednesday 19 July. Here are some photos of the day. Well done everyone.
Some of our Senior students have recently started a new skill development program with Tallai Home Timber & Hardware. Thank you for providing a great opportunity for our students to develop and showcase their vocational skills.
For the past few weeks block has been busy making one of their focus books into a movie as part of the Term 2 Positive Behaviour for Learning Celebration! On Friday week 10 (21 June) students will be able to view the finish product of not only their work but each of the blocks in the school. There will be a red carpet showing of their movie where students will be able to use the school values of being Connected, Aware and Responsible. Students, and staff, are encouraged to wear pyjamas as our dress theme.
