Welcome back to the final term for 2023. We are welcoming four new families to our school community this term. 

We have a rich term ahead with our Art and Photography event, P&C fundraiser with Miss Melly, Day for Daniel, Bravehearts, Senior Students Graduation and Final Camp for graduating Students to Camp Kindalin.

A reminder about school protocols:

• Students arrive from 8.30 am with teacher aide supervision till 9 am formal class delivery.
• Students depart from school at 2.45 pm.
• Late arrivals please go through to the office and Admin will contact classes to collect your young person.
• Staff will support students to supervisory spaces.
• Early collections parents go through the office and the Admin staff will contact classes.
• School learning is paramount and messages will be taken at the front office and passed onto students staff to minimise teaching time, unless in extreme emergency.

Your assistance with the above will help maximise class learning time. 

Attached in the newsletter is the Graduating Students of 2022 Next Steps Data and link to our School Review attached to our Website. These data sets provide rich input for our future planning. 

Yesterday I presented with Sarah a nurse navigator and Julie from NDIS at Bond University to Dr Peter Jones Medical Students the impacts for a child and their families with their disability conditions. The 120 students were invited to ask questions afterwards which created rich discussion. We thank the Medical Students and the donation that comes to our school as a result of this reciprocal program that we have partnered.

The strength is certainly in creating stronger communities: "It does take a village to educate a child".

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Term 4 PBL celebration will be Superhero themed! The school values of being Connected, Aware and Responsible will be explicitly taught throughout the term culminating with a day of fun and excitement on the last day of school.

Hi Mudgeeraba Special School Community.

I hope you all had a lovely break and are ready for a busy Term 4.

You may know that the P&C are about to launch a new fundraiser. Miss Melly’s has kindly provided us with 8 brooches for you to view in the admin office. With Christmas coming up, you may just find that special something for that special someone in your life. Every brooch sold attracts $15 towards Ipads for the school. Miranda (P&C President) and I will also have a table at the Art Show later this month and the brooches will be on display there also. Jacqui from Miss Melly’s will be joining us as well so if you have any questions, please come and see us.

This coming Tuesday 10th at My Time, Toni has organised a very interesting session, a succulent Terrarium Class. Curious? Come along, have a cuppa and join in the fun.

The next uniform shop day is Tuesday 17th October 8.30am-9.30am.
