Thanks to our school community for another brilliant term. We have had learning celebrations in the shape of Book Week, Science Week and Market Day, Sporting prowess over at Somerset College and community connections with our Bond Medical Students, local schools, Puggles Playgroup, Our Church end of term morning tea and My Time sessions. And we shared a sad time with the passing of one of our friends. Through it all we are Mudgee and we are an invested community that is here for all.
Yours in Education

On Thursday 14 Sepetember, our Lower and Upper Middle students had a blast engaging in cricket games and activities. A big thank you to Dream Cricket for providing this opportunity and to Somerset college for donating a full kit bag for our students to use.

Every term our Senior School students run a market stall at Robina Town Centre and every term they rise to the occasion, showcasing their literacy, numeracy and vocational skills to the wider community. Here are some photos from the market stall on Monday 11 September. Well done to all students and staff involved.
Senior School Cookie Competition
During their English lessons, the Senior students have been learning about advertising techniques. On Thursday, they put their skills on show in a cookie competition, trying to persuade people to sample and vote for their delicious cookies! Fantastic job everyone.
PBL Celebration Day - Farm Fair
Friday 15 September was our Farm Fair PBL Celebration day. Our students and staff had a wonderful time dressing up, playing carnival games and engaging with the animals in a petting zoo while displaying our school values of being Connected, Aware and Responsible. Thank you to Old MacDonald’s Travelling Farms for proving this fantastic opportunity for our students.

Our Art and Photogrphy event is on Thursday 26 October. Here is some information on how to purchase the artworks and food on the night.
Hi Mudgeeraba Special School Community.
With the rising cost of living, it’s important for us to find other avenues to keep our kids busy over the holidays and minimize spending.
I’m sure most of you would know that one of the resources available to us is the Companion Card. The Companion Card makes life a little more affordable for our young people to access our community with the support of their Carer who in most cases is entitled to free entry.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Companion Card, please click on the links below to read more and/or apply for one for your young person.

For those of you whose young person has just turned 15 or will be turning 15 soon, I have an important piece of information for you. From 15 years of age, anyone can apply for A Photo Identification Card. This card is particularly important for our kids with special needs as it can be difficult to provide adequate ID when dealing with the likes of Centrelink and other Government agencies. The Photo ID card does attract a fee of $77.40 and the form can be filled out online and then taken to a Queensland Transport Branch. It takes about 21 days to receive the card after submitting the application through Queensland Transport.
If you’re interested in applying for a card for your young person, please click the link below :

For those of you who feel you’ll be in need of a post school holiday chill out session, Toni is hosting a breakfast for My Time on the first Tuesday back, 3rd October. Further information will be available closer to the date.
The next uniform shop day is also Tuesday 3rd October 8.30am-9.30am.
Have a great holiday and take care everyone.
