We have further grants in with other organisations to cover the overall project. In the background can be seen a Samsung Flip 2 which was purchased from a second grant from Karen. On Monday afternoon, Mudgeeraba Special School student leaders were announced at our first whole school assembly for 2020. Student council representatives and sporting house captains were presented with their badges by Jacquie, a representative of Ros Bates MP Member for Mudgeeraba. Representatives were elected into their student council positions through a speech and voting process. Student council representatives will attend a weekly meeting to further develop their leadership capabilities. Sporting house captains focus on active engagement and team spirit in the lead up to our many sporting events throughout the year. Congratulations to all student council representatives and sporting house captains for 2020.

Families our first School Council Performance took place on Thursday 20th February. Students had a wonderful time learning through the medium of dramatic performance the skill of becoming, Brilliant at being Resilient. The Performer used stories, poetry, fractured fairy tales, illusions and and all of the students engaged in laughter while learning and honing positive behaviour learning skills.
Positive Behaviour for Learning - Value of the Week - Review Week
During the school week our students will engage in repeated lessons from the Week 3 and Week 4 explicit learning behaviours of We Share and We listen to Instructions we listen to adults
Parents and carers you can assist with this learning by providing your young person with specific praise when they share items and when simple one step instructions are carried out.
Today a tick was located within the school. Please see below a fact sheet on preventing and treating tick from https://www.healthdirect.gov.au. The information stated includes, “All clothing should be removed after visiting tick infested areas and placed into a hot dryer for 20 minutes to kill any tick that could be still on the clothing. The entire body should be then checked for ticks of all sizes and stages, paying particular attention to areas behind the ears and the back of the head or neck, especially on children.”
