Semester One has been an incredible start to the year.
- We have had increased enrolments and with that we have needed to support the classroom operations to transition. Our greatest need in education across Queensland and Australia is teacher recruitment. We have had staff changes again this week and we are trying to finalise class updates and we will forward letters as we contract staff replacements or make class modifications for students.
- We can announce our new Business Manager is Gabby Hammond from a local school. I am working with her principal to corrdinate a starting date. I thank Lorraine and Carly in the office for supporting our school community.
- We will undertake some minor works in the holidays to refresh some spaces with washing of the Bus Waiting Area, down pipe renewal amongst other tasks.
Everyone enjoy a well deserved break and keep well. We look forward to seeing you in Term 3.
Yours in Education

This Semester, students within lower middle have been undertaking weekly rehearsals in preparation for an end of Semester dance concert. The concert was a culmination of all of the skills they have been developing within their physical education unit of work. Students performed the school's accepting roads chant, the four wheels song and the cha cha slide! Thank you to families and carers who attending the concert on Tuesday 20th to watch their young people shine.
The Senior School students and staff had another great day at their market stall at Robina Town Centre on Monday 12 June. Well done to everyone involved.

Hi Mudgeeraba Special School Community.
Did you know that some items we recycle at home can actually be valuable resources in your young person’s classroom? Items such as empty Cling Wrap rolls, icecream containers, egg cartons, etc can be used by the students for various activities. They of course must be clean and in good condition. Please speak with your child’s teacher about the items you can donate to their classroom.
Graduation is always a highlight of the school year but can add to parents’ financial worries. Depending on where you look, formal wear can be very expensive but while looking online, I came across a couple of sites that may ease the financial blow for some of you if you’re able to find what you want. Shein has a few dresses at bargain prices, along with St Frock which are slightly more expensive. Others I came across are Zapaka and Hebeos. My favourite however is JJ’s House. They are a bit more expensive than some of the sites I mentioned earlier but they offer a “try on” option. This requires a $20 payment which covers postage for the dress that your young person would like to try. This not only enables your child to try the dress in the comfort of their own home, but you can send it back using the pre-paid labels they provide if the dress is not right for your young person.
I hope these suggestions are helpful. If nothing else, it doesn’t cost anything to have a look and maybe get some ideas. Good luck!
My Time is held every Tuesday from 9.30am. This is a great opportunity to relax and chat to other parents.
The next uniform shop day will be the first Tuesday back after the holidays which is the 11th July. Just a reminder that I have restocked the Shop so come and see me if your young person needs uniforms. If you need uniforms outside of shop hours, please fill in an order form and leave it at admin. I will deliver the order once payment has been made.
Have a lovely holiday everyone. Stay safe and we’ll see you in Term 3.
Paula
Wonder Recycling Rewards for Schools
We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported in collecting bread bags for the Wonder White Bread Bag Collection. We have sent off our bread bins and we can proudly say that they are all full! We could not have done it without all the help of our families and the Junior's Deli Staff Members
Thank you to Robina Lions Club and Broadwater Southport Rotary Club
Wellbeing: Timeout QLD Health for Ill Health
Mudgeeraba Special School families thanks for your diligence in supporting your students at home when they are unwell.
Keeping students, families and staff well is a shared responsibility and we are following health advice when we all work together. In this fortnight newsletter we advise that families have been enacting the health policy and keeping their young people at home.
If you have any queries please contact through the office our departmental nurse Bec Hayden or myself as Principal.
