Mudgeeraba Special School Families our department has consulted widely and developed the updated Strategic Plan branded " Equity and Excellence". Further information will be forwarded to communities as this is launched by the Premier. As a staff we have begun looking at alignment opportunities for our school to deliver the three pillars.
DoE: Equity & Excellence | MSS Improvement Agendas | Performance Measures |
Educational Achievement |
Quality Reading and Writing - AAC Outdoor Learning - Age Appropriate Pedagogies |
Student Outcomes |
Wellbeing and Engagement | Embedding our Wellbeing Framework of Choice Theory for Staff and Communityand the Get Happier School for students | Attendance and Positive Behaviour Learning |
Culture and Inclusion |
Cultural Embeddedness Practices Transitions from Prep to Post School |
School Opinion and Quality Schools Perception Surveys |
This alignment for learning is powerful and pertinent to our school community. Key emphasis is on every day counts for learning including at school time for learning from 9 am to 2.45 pm. We will be seeking families assistance to make the learning count. Arriving after 9 am does effect each students start to the day as the first focused session is the Literacy Block from 9 till 10.00 am. If your young person attends an external therapist in school time please advise the office and this can be recorded in the attendance data and recorded as Therapy Services rather than the code of unexplained. This will assist us in communicating to the department that we are fully aware of the learning for each student.
I will present in more detail at the next P&C Meeting on the evening of Wednesday 8 March and look forward to celebrating Learning at Mudgee with our families.

Annual General Meeting P&C Association of Mudgeeraba Special School to be held on Wednesday 22 March morning at 9.30 am.
Hi Mudgeeraba Special School Community,
My name is Paula and for those of you who don’t know me, I’m the parent of a beautiful young lady in Senior School.
Although Mudgeeraba Special is a small, intimate school community, it can be easy to miss connecting with other parents and carers.
The P&C Association hope that with the addition of our parent blog to the Newsletter, we can grow our parent connections and in turn, broaden our support network.
So please drop by for a chat at the Uniform shop. Toni and I are there every alternate Tuesday and would love to connect with you.
Also, I just wanted to welcome our new students and parents/carers to the Mudgee Special family.
Take care everyone and we hope to see you soon.
Paula
