My Time: To Be Informed
Parents,
Next week on Wednesday 5th February we have our wonderful and informative Meet the Teaching Team night for 2020. Please don't forget to fill our the RSVP form on your flyer and send it back to your teacher for catering purposes. Please be informed that we are unable to supervise students on this night as all teachers will be presenting information to you surrounding your young person's learning adventure for 2020. It is a great night where you can gain an understanding of the learning outcomes and major school events your young person will be involved with this year. It is designed to be a short but informative session with some question and answer time at the end closing the evening at 7pm sharp.
Please email me bnair6@eq.edu.au if you have any further questions.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
Term 1 - Week 1
During the first week of school at Mudgeeraba Special school our staff set up the behavioural expectations for the year by introducing our school values of being Honest Caring and Respectful and use explicit and incidental teaching in a number of ways.
Parent and Carer’s you could further this learning in the home environment by encouraging your young person’s independence and setting up what you believe in your home it is to be Honest, Caring and Respectful.
- Phone the office and request the classroom. Please always be mindful of students' learning and teachers teaching times.
- Utilise the students' Communication Diary
- Request face to face meetings through your class teacher.
Via Social Media:
Morning drop off and Afternoon pick up
We ask that your student identify himself or herself to the staff member who is on duty at the front gate so they can be recorded as arrived or leaving safely.
Each interaction is an opportunity to practise communication skills while building safe relationships within the wider school community.
Does your child catch the bus or school taxi?
Please remember to contact Metro Buses or Taxi contact if your child will not be travelling to or from school on any particular day by the Departmental approved transport.
Absence
We appreciate it if you could inform the school office on 5559 3333 if your child will not be attending school.
It has recently come to our attention that some families have been experiencing difficulties installing and accessing the schoolzine app. The good news is that Schoolzine have identified an issue and corrected it so you should now be able to successfully install and use the app if you were affected. Attached is an information sheet on how to install the app and a link to the Schoolzine app site should you require any further information.
Mudgeeraba Special School has a school code
