I really want to take this opportunity to explain some of the spectacular things that are happening at our school and I'm pleased to be able to share that our buildings in the junior secondary area have been removed and we are in the final stages of planning, we hope to announce the start date for building soon. This building is purpose built and will create a streamlined education design for our High School students. It will provide students with the opportunity to have learning spaces that enhance the certificate courses we offer (AGRIFOODS, HOSPITALITY, ACTIVE VOLUNTEERING, ACCESS to VOCATIONAL PATHWAYS). We know that during the next twelve months the school will look and sound different, but the final results are going to be amazing.
We celebrate the talented staff within our school community who have delivered focused work on our key targets this year. This year we have three key areas we will focus on;
Balanced Literacy – emphasis on Talk 4 Writing which was led by two of our talented teachers Michaela and Emily. It’s amazing to see teachers leading strong pedagogical practices across our campus. They have inspired everyone over the student free days and we can’t wait to see it in action over the next four terms. We were also privileged enough to be successful in working with the regional project The Inclusive Teaching of Reading. Our balanced Literacy practices continue to strengthen every year as we strive for communication and literacy excellence.
Age Appropriate Pedagogies (AAP) has been a focus for the last few years, utilising students interests and a range of strategies, we engage learners in authentic experiences. Our rooms inside and out are constantly thriving with rich learning experiences, our tuff trays and story boxes are some of our favourites.
Glasser – we are one step closer to being recognised as a Glasser International School. This year exciting work is being led by our PBL Committee with new values, a mascot and the teaching matrix. In week 5 we are hoping to launch our new mascot, while we hold our inaugural car show. Each class will build a car that represents their interests and skills and showcase some key elements of Choice Theory. This is such an exciting piece that connects our community, both students and staff to ensure we continue to be the best people we can be.
To our amazing P and C who represent our community, we thank you for your dedication. Please come along on the 11th February and be part of the teamwork who assist to build a supportive and rich school that delivers outcomes for our students.
Over the coming days we would love to introduce you to our teaching teams, they have created clips so you get to know all the members and what the team is focusing on this year. We have creative teachers and we hope you enjoy getting to know them.
See you on Monday!

Covid Guidelines Weekly Update
Stop the Spread of COVID-19Maintaining the required hygiene and physical distancing measures in place in our school. These are our most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Any person who is sick (staff, student or parent) should stay home and if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested.
Symptoms of COVID-19 can include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Loss of taste or smell
- Tiredness and muscle aches
- Vomiting and/or diarrhoea
- Shortness of breath
If students or staff present at school as unwell we will follow up and request an imediate early departure until a medical clearance is provided and confirmation that the person is well.
We need to ensure we stay home if recurring flu like symptoms present to decrease the spread of influenza.
If you have any questions, please call your doctor or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) in these continuing concerning times.
